About Marisa Ala
Most people do not have the correct legal documents in place to protect their loved ones after their death. Marisa guides families through the legal process so they can create a plan to protect their inheritance. With the right plan, your wishes will be carried out, and your loved ones will be protected and at peace.
After experiencing the stress and family drama of settling the estate of her own grandparents, Marisa decided to leave a long time career as a litigator to start an estate planning firm. She now helps individuals and families secure their financial future, and give those they leave behind the gift of a peaceful transition, through informed estate planning. If a probate (court) proceeding is required, Marisa helps the family work through the complications of handling the estate with compassion and understanding.
As a small business owner herself, Marisa also enjoys working with other small businesses to ensure that they have updated formation documents, contracts, and most importantly, a succession plan that is integrated with the owner's estate plan.
Marisa and her husband John are the parents of two teenagers, Ariel and Jeffrey. Ariel came to them through Denver County’s foster care system, and they adopted her in July of 2013. Marisa is passionate about helping other parents find the right resources and connections to ease the significant burden of raising a traumatized child, and enjoys volunteering with local charities that support foster care and adoption. Marisa is also proud to serve on the board of directors for Life Services Spokane.
Marisa Ala received her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law and has been practicing for more than 25 years. She is currently practicing law in Washington, Idaho, and Colorado.
Marisa regularly speaks at local and regional conferences on Estate Planning and other relevant industry topics. Contact Marisa to inquire about speaking engagements.
