My name is Marisa Ala and as the owner of The Ala Firm, I help you plan to leave a legacy — peacefully.
I practiced construction litigation for years but shifted my focus to estate planning after the passing of my grandparents. There was a lot of family drama surrounding the settlement of their estate and I realized the stress and frustration could have been avoided with proper estate planning.
My mission now is to help you protect your loved ones from the burden of attending to your estate after you pass.
An estate plan should include a will, powers of attorney, a medical directive, name a guardian for young children, and potentially establish a trust to allow for the smooth transfer of your financial assets. If you don’t have these in writing, someone else will make these decisions for you after you’re gone, and this can cause stress, confusion and unnecessary burden for those you leave behind.
My approach to creating your estate plan is all inclusive, convenient and casual. I meet with you virtually or at your home. Unlike many law firms, I don’t nickel and dime you for small changes to your plan through the years. Many clients see me as more of a trusted friendly advisor, not just a lawyer...
